Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) is committed to participating in oral health research to improve the health of all Victorians.

The role of DHSV in oral health research?

As detailed in our Research and Innovation Strategy (PDF, 993KB), DHSV aims to:

  • Actively foster, support and participate in research and innovation aligned with Government and DHSV strategic priorities for oral health with a particular emphasis on those with the greatest needs or risk of poor oral health.
  • Establish and extend the evidence base on the impact of poor oral health on general health.
  • Develop capacity for research and innovation within the public oral health sector.
  • Advocate for inclusion of oral health as a national health research priority.
  • Build strategic research partnerships with people and organisations across the health, education, industry, community and government sectors.

Are you considering a research project in oral health?

DHSV's Research and Innovation Grants program could help you get started.

The Research and Innovation Grants program initiative provides opportunity for DHSV staff, and staff of public oral health services funded by DHSV, to pursue and develop their ideas for innovation. These grants will play a vital role in seeding innovation, and supporting development of high quality proposals, capable of attracting external funding.
